Having UC isn’t just about taking meds to control the symptoms. I do take 20 mg of Prednisone and 75mg of Imuran. Because the latter suppresses my immune system, it’s harder for me to fight off colds. Teaching young children, I’ve always been exposed to germs. I’ve got a strong work ethic. I’ve gone into work many days I should have stayed home. Lately tho it feels like I need a three day weekend to be rested. Currently I’m on a week off for Thanksgiving and I’m very grateful. I have a lot of chest congestion and am taking antibiotics and sleeping a lot.

My fiancé’s dog. She’s as cuddly as she looks. Loves her tummy rubbed, and she is the lickingest dog you’ll ever find.

This year I began teaching at a new school. My previous school was closed by the county. I am teaching in a new grade level. My fiance has moved in. Next June will be my wedding. We are planning the wedding and honeymoon.

In April of this year I found out I have ulcerative pan colitis. It is an auto immune disease that, in my case, attacks the entire colon; causing pain, inflammation, loose stool, and sudden urgency. It’s a hell of a thing to deal with on top of everything else, but there you go.

My mom has announced she’s selling the house and moving to Arizona. A good move, I think, since it’s more upkeep than she needs at this point. Dad passed away 2 years ago. I still miss him.

So yeah… It’s a time of change in my life.
